Glowing Trio Smoothie

As the weather warms up it’s a great time to get back into refreshing smoothies for healthy breakfast or snacks. Spring is also a time when we need extra nutritional support as the mornings are still cold and hay fever abounds. This smoothie includes the ‘golden trio” of carrots, orange and turmeric to provide a powerful combination of anti-inflammatory, immune boosting and vitamin rich foods.

Please note that you do need a powerful blender for this recipe, such as a Thermomix or Vitamix in order to blend the carrot adequately. Alternatively, you can blend/grate the carrot then add it into a food processor with the other ingredients.

Glowing Trio Smoothie Recipe.
Serves: 1

Ready in: 5 minutes

Ingredients

*1 small carrot, roughly chopped 
*1 small orange, peeled, segmented and pitted
*½ inch fresh turmeric, grated
*1 small banana
*1 medjool date, pitted
*½ tsp vanilla
*¾ cup almond milk
*½ tsp flaxmeal (optional)

Method

1. Place all ingredients in the high speed blender.
2. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds.
3. Drink slowly and enjoy!

Note 

Please protect your hearing when using high powered blenders that do not have a noise shield. Cover your hears with hands, ear muffs or earplugs especially when blending on high.
